An original RHD Home Market Cooper 'S' – build in September 1966 & sold by Moir & Baxter Ltd of Edinburgh. Finished in its original colour of Almond Green coachwork with an Old English White roof – combined with Porcelain Green upholstery with Dove Grey inserts. It was also fitted from new with a heater, an auxiliary fuel tank & an oil cooler and currently retains its original engine and registration number FFG 927D. Regretfully little is known of the cars history prior to 2006 when we have MOT corroboration & are led to understand that during this period a new speedo was fitted – hence the somewhat current low recorded mileage. All subsequent MOT’s were Passes – apart from one Fail – post which all the indicated faults have been duly rectified. All panel gaps are superb - better than factory - & both the two tone paint & chrome are in excellent order throughout – so nice to see a car with external hinges & sliding windows – instant nostalgia! The car was extensively restored some 20 years ago - utilising a new bodyshell – as were many of that era - & fitted with new period reclining seats . A further restoration carried out in 2018 – at a cost of some £10k – included new floor pans & sills to both sides, brake system overhaul, new water pump, radiator& hoses. A British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate is on file confirming its original factory specification. Post Royston's acquisition, we have fitted a new carpet set & a period Moto Lita steering wheel, replaced worn ball joints, uj's, heater valve, head gasket, new choke cable & many other fiddlies culminating in a new 12 month MOT for that mechanical peace of mind!
