1946 Chevy Stylemaster Business Coupe Old school Luxury 1946 Sytlemaster Business Coupe! The odometer on this blue exterior with gray cloth interior Chevrolet shows 75,720 miles. Amenities include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: original 216cid/90bhp inline-6 engine with one-barrel carburetor; 3-speed manual transmission; single exhaust; MPH, temp and fuel gauges; clock; AM radio; and a Super Deluxe heater/defroster. The tires are a matched set of F78-15 bias-ply whitewalls, all in very good condition, mounted on steel wheels with hubcaps.
MECHANICAL: The engine starts easily, idles smoothly. The transmission and clutch work well and shift easily, while the brakes pull the car to a straight stop. The steering is smooth, easy, and tracks straight down the road. We were advised that the lights, horn and gauges are all in working order.
EXTERIOR: The exterior physical condition of the sheet metal is very good to excellent. There is no rust, dents or dings, and the body panels are very straight. All the body panels appear to be original with excellent alignment. The blue paint on the car is in very good condition. There are no chips or scratches, and it has been buffed to a mirror finish. The original chrome and stainless trim have small pits, dings and fading in it. The grille has been changed to a 1948, the trunk trim is painted gray (instead of being chrome), while the hubcaps all have a few small dings in them. The windshield and side window glass looks very good.
INTERIOR: The newer gray cloth upholstery was professionally installed, but there is a stain on the front seat. The door panels and kick panels are in very good condition. The rubber floor mat is newer and has not wear. The newer headliner has no stains or holes. The dash and window trim are painted brown instead of wood-graining. The steering wheel has been refinished and is not cracked. The gauges and interior trim all looks good, with minor scratches and pits.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT & TRUNK: The engine and engine compartment are clean, but there is oil stains and minor corrosion. The paint and mats in the trunk are in very good condition.
CHASSIS: The restored undercarriage is showing its age and use as there is dirt and stains on all areas, as well as very minor corrosion on some bolts and corners. The exhaust system is in very good condition. Chevrolet produced 14,267 Chevrolet Stylemaster Business Coupe in 1946, with a base price of about $1022. This restored car is in good to very good condition. CONDITION CODE: #3+
