Here is my Austin A35, best of both worlds from classic car with upgrades taken from the racing side of these great little cars .
Started with the most solid original car i have ever seen, stripped it and started again to keep the classic look but make it a real driver to go any where . Finished in Old English white
Starting with the engine, 1275cc MG midget fully rebuilt mildly ported head , 3 branch exhaust , custom exhaust system, with twin carbs set up ,
High torque starter , alternator , electronic ignition , Alloy radiator with cooling fan
Gearbox is rib cased with new bearings fitted, new clutch ETC
All new front suspension with Poly bushes , New disc brakes and callipers, copper brake pipes Goodridge braided hose's, Hybrid Midget back brakes with brake Bias valve fitted, Centre hand brake , Hydraulic pedal box from as per academy.
Rear axle with Midget half shafts , Telescopic damper conversion , car all lowered 1. 5 inches, Minilite Alloys all round with new tyres,
Interior is custom made , seat covers , carpets , head lining , wood rim steering wheel ,
Electrics are all new with rev counter , temp gauge new switch panel, dry cell race battery with cut off switch , electric fuel pump, couple of front spots and reverse lights
Other touches such as gas struts on bonnet and boot , custom boot storage , all new rubber seals on glass work , front quarter lights perspex , under side was stripped primed and stone chipped , new or very good chrome all round , I am sure i have missed some bits but enough to get the idea this was a top end build , Could be taken further to race spec or enjoyed as i have as a resto -mod that does every thing goes any where with out having to check it every week , pending relocation means i have to reluctantly part with it
