Body: Limousine
Age: 71 years

This imposing post-war family saloon has been stored in family ownership in Scotland for most of the last 70 years. It has a complete documented history and drives superbly. A car to cherish.
These big and relatively rare Austin saloons have long been undervalued by the classic car fraternity. The inside furnishing of curved wood with recessed square dials, ivory knobs, Bakelite and acres of tan leather is truly British 1940’s. The large headlamps are bold and distinctive and chrome work is excellent all round. The sweeping wheel arches are well-proportioned and the saloon (as opposed to the limousine) is no longer than many more modern Jaguars. The hydraulic brakes are excellent and the big, lazy, straight-six Austin engine enables cruising at over 80 mph, where legal.
This car has had 4 Scottish owners one of whom was well known in the owners’ club and recommissioned the car in 1998 after it had been in storage for in Glasgow for 26 years. It has a complete history from the buff registration book to more recent expenditure and pictures at shows and weddings. It is well-serviced, drips a spot of oil here and there and has a stiff sunroof needing the talents of a new owner. The accompanying handbook and workshop manual are works of art.
We would prefer the car to remain in Scotland if possible.
