Chassis B124KT is a very dark blue over light grey 1937 Derby Park Ward Saloon with a documented 89, 700 miles from new and has had circa £60, 000 spent on a sympathetic restoration over the last 5 years or so. This has included body restoration and a bare metal repaint by West Hoathly Garage, complete leather retrim, new headlining and new carpets by Alec Tillet, engine overhaul by Lyn Small and a re-built back axle by Maggs Engineering. The car is now fitted with a low ratio back axle bringing it up to MR specification. All the chrome trim has been re-plated and it has also been completely re-wired. As well as the original working (flashing) trafficators, it has also been fitted with LED flashing indicators for motorway use. The original matching numbers Park Ward body is unusual in that the spare wheel is mounted in a well on a front wing, instead of the usual position on top of the boot lid. This was at the first owner’s request, who specified a strengthened boot lid equipped with an inner dust cover and leather straps to enable suitcases to be carried on the opened boot lid. This together with the MR back axle makes for a superb touring car. The restoration was documented in detail and published as “Legend” The Derby Bentley Workshop Guide. Available from Amazon Books or direct from the publisher here:- Additionally there are two volumes of History that come with the car, comprising 90 A4 typeset pages with over 100 images.
