Not a museum piece. Not a perfectly restored classic, or trailerqueen. But very much a BMW with character, muscle, and a raw edge. This 1978 BMW 528i was originally delivered new in the Netherlands and has since evolved into a true drivers project for the enthusiast. Under the hood you wont find the original 2. 8, but a 3. 5-liter M30 inline-six from an E28, producing approximately 210 hp. Paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 40% limited-slip differential, this BMW doesnt just sound aggressive it genuinely delivers. Thanks to the sharper camshaft, spaghetti-style exhaust manifold, and a fully custom-built exhaust system, the engine sounds brutally raw and feels extremely responsive. The suspension has been upgraded with red Koni shock absorbers all around, giving the car a firm, sporty driving feel. The bodywork was restored in the past, but due to regular use some bubbles have reappeared, and the sills require local welding. The remainder of the underbody is solid. A full restoration isnt necessary, unless the next owner decides otherwise it all depends on how the car will be used.Inside, the cabin is classic BMW: a very tidy dashboard with wood trim, complemented by a MOMO Alpina sports steering wheel and a wooden gear knob. The Recaro seats are not original but offer excellent comfort and support. The door panels and headliner are in neat condition. In short:An honest BMW with a serious drivetrain, a raw soundtrack, and plenty of potential.Ideal for the enthusiast who prefers driving over polishing and isnt afraid to make it their own.
