Seller's comments about 1931' BSA Trike

Here we have my 1931 BSA Trike. this is a very special car having received a thorough restoration resulting in a road going special. It started as a tired BSA front Wheel Driven Trike with the Hotchkiss derived 1100cc Vee Twin. Two Brothers restored the car around 10 years ago, one a professional engineer and one a professional body fabricator. Everything has been refreshed and stove enamelled, plated, polished or renewed. The original body was deemed too far gone to restore so a brand new streamlined body was fabricated and fitted. All mechanical components were rebuilt and the mighty vee twin was converted to twin carbs. The result is a fabulously reliable and easy to drive car.
I acquired the car over 3 years ago as a 90% complete running project and set off to make it something very special. Give a shipwright a prewar car project and this is what might you get. I proceeded to redo all the woodwork, sourced the correct original gauges, did a complete rewire and had the interior re trimmed in a Bordeaux leather. Finally I had the top prewar BSA mechanic come round and go through the car front to back to the tune of around 2k. This car now needs nothing at all and is a joy to drive.
So what is it like to drive? I have described it as running through an alpine stream naked! It's a visceral experience. In any case it sounds like nothing else with it's Brooklands silencer... hence the name 'Hells Bells'. Despite this it always starts on the button and is very easy to drive. It keeps up with modern traffic and stops very well indeed! Pretty remarkable for a prewar car. I have had it to 70mph on a flat straight road and it had more but I chickened out... The ride is surprising compliant and it handles well as you would expect of a three wheeler. The gearbox takes no getting used to and only requires the slightest double clutching and the clutch is wonderfully light. If you are interested in this special car give me a ring and come round for a test ride... I guarantee you'll leave smiling.
