Seller's comments about 1952' Chevrolet Styleline Long Distance Rally Car
There are long distance rallies on the horizon, across the Sahara, Peking to Paris, through India or South America…the starting point for all of these adventures? A car built for the challenge. This 1952 Chevrolet Styleline was purpose built by a rally preparation company with history of building such cars and knowledge of just what is required to succeed. With an original build cost in the region of £160, 000 (invoices on file) it features a completely restored body on top of a very strong chassis, a rebuilt 3. 8 litre overhead valve, 6 cylinder Stovebolt engine and a slick Tremec 600 5 speed gearbox connected to a 9” differential. Twin fuel tanks with a combined capacity of 150 litres ensure that you shouldn’t run out of gas in the middle of the Gobi or Sahara deserts (twin fuel pumps) and a bespoke wiring loom for reliability and simplicity. Ultra strong suspension with excellent ground clearance and Goodyear Wrangler tyres. Inside the cabin is a half roll cage, two extremely comfortable Corbeau leather seats with TRS harnesses, full VDO instrumentation, easy access fuses, a Monit and map light to aid navigation. The Chevrolet was built for the Peking to Paris rally and is a complete, ready to go rally car. We have completely re- fettled the car, manufactured new seat brackets (for a far more comfortable seating position), serviced it, spanner checked it, comprehensively road tested it, everything works, it’s on the button. Now for sale at a fraction of its build cost, all you need to do is fill in the entry forms to a world of adventures
