1961' Facel Vega Facellia

For sale, my long time owned Facel Vega Facellia. Completely restored and upgraded in the last 2 decades. Very rare car with its original PAM engine! • Overall:
The car is a 1961 Facellia convertible, chassis number FAD135. It was delivered new in the USA. I have acquired the car 26 years ago as a complete project and restored and improved it ever since. It still has its original PAM engine and gearbox
• Restoration works:
In the first 6 to 7 years of my ownership the bare metal restoration took place, during which:
- The car was taken to bare metal, all the required welding took place and it was resprayed in its original red metallic colour.
- The engine has been completely rebuild
- The suspension has been rebuild completely, including brake rebuild of the original Dunlop brakes and new MC
- The chrome has been rechromed and stainless polished. The bumpers were heavily dented so were completely restored
- The interior has been redone, seats in leather and the rest of the interior in faux leather. Also, a new convertible top and cover has been placed on the frame, that I rebuilt.
- Dash has been painted like Original, All the instruments also been rebuilt.
- Completely new wiring loom from front to back
- New stainless exhaust
Etc. etc. etc. In short, everything has either been renewed or rebuild.
• Over the last 15 years
Once the car was finished I have used it. It has not been a trailer queen, but pampered while being used extensively, including trips to Scotland and France. In total, I think it covered around 10. 000 kilometres under my ownership. During these 15 years I improved the car where needed:
- New rear springs including polybushes (now 4. 000 km old)
- New brake discs + Fosseway performance aluminium Dunlop replica brakes + stainless braided flexilines (it stops on a dime) (now 500 kms old)
- Exhaust manifold has been ceramic coated (now 500 kms old)
- The whole cooling system has been rebuild recently, with new hoses, new radiator core and an electrical fan. (now 500 kms old)
- A 123 ignition (tune version) has been placed instead of the original points ignition (now 5. 000 kms old). Also, the Tachometer has been converted to electrical so it works with the 123
- Dash pad and window surround have been reupholstered in leather
- A correct convertible top area devider has been placed behind the seat. It still needs to be reupholstered.
• Last 2 years
- The engine block has been rebuild again. New liners, pistons, bearings etc.
- Original carburettor (Solex C35) has been rebuild
- When the engine was out, we redid the whole engine bay and looked over the wiring to check for any issues, none were found.
- Car recieved a new battery and battery cables
- The car has been on the rollng road recently and therefore tuned to perfection.
In short, a Facellia Convertible that is in very good condition and can be used instantly. I will put on new tires prior to sale. The only element I would find that some improvement is maybe possible is the interior, also due to the new divider plate that still needs to be reupholstered.
