This restored 1950 Ford Country Squire Woody Wagon is everything you love about classics in one vehicle. It has the iconic 50 Ford styling, classic wood sides, solid flathead V8 power, and a cool surf wagon style. So the desirability of this one goes beyond just its exceptional rarity. This one has a very cool sense of vintage style. It is vibrant, vintage, and detailed with just the right hints of maturity to make sure everyone knows it has a history. In fact, this is just coming from 20 years of long-term care. So youll see the right level of preservation and investment throughout that make this one even more distant. It starts with the paint. The bold yellow signals that this has moved on from its original years as being one of the most expensive Fords around, and now its a bit more of a hot rod surf wagon. But the pinstriping and windshield sunshade signal that the idea is not to be a modern cruiser either. So its aiming for the Frankie & Annette kind of style. The rear seat folds flat for better cargo, and the cloth upholstery is durable yet comfortable. There are even nice additions like tinted windows, sport side mirrors, and an AM/FM/CD stereo in the glovebox (not currently working). So this still feels like the kind of cruiser everyone can pile in and take to the beach. The engine bay continues the vintage but updated style. The 239 cubic-inch flathead V8 looks distinct in the engine bay with the custom yellow block radiating nicely against the black inner walls. There are cool vintage details, like the oil bath air grabber and Edelbrock finned head covers. And youll also spot helpful upgrades for a better cruiser, like the Coolcarbs heat shield. Best of all, we were told this motor was rebuilt only about 1k miles ago, and the way it fires up and runs so smoothly reaffirms the feeling of a quality investment. The three-speed manual transmission shifts easily, and it feels responsive around town no matter if youre carrying surfboards or a carload of passengers. This one keeps its authenticity right down to the color-matched steel wheels with two-piece wheel covers. But investments like new whitewalls make sure cruising is authentic but easy.
