1928 Ford Model A Pickup - 200ci 4 Cylinder - 3 Speed Manual Transmission - 2663 Miles Shown TMU - Green and Black Exterior - Brown Interior There is something visceral about driving a vintage truck, especially one that is nearly 100 years old. Sitting behind the wheel of this old Ford really takes you back to simpler times. You are very involved in the driving of these vehicles as there are no modern conveniences, such as power steering or power brakes and you must double clutch when you shift as the transmission is not synchronized. You also have to use hand signals when you turn or are about to come to a stop as there were no turn signals typical of most cars at this period. In some ways it is closer to a tractor than a car, especially how we know them today, but thats ok. Its a great place to be behind the wheel of this old Ford truck, you are not in a hurry to get anywhere with a top speed around 45 mph and as you drive the hustle and bustle of this modern world begins to melt away. There are no ports for your cell phone, no radio to distract you, and people wave at you with big smiles on their faces. In our opinion, it really is the closest thing to time travel youre going to ever experience as it transfers you back to simpler times. This truck was treated to an older restoration and painted green with black fenders. The paint has been well maintained and shines with a deep luster with the only flaws being some slight swirl marks in the paint finish. The truck bed was restored with finished oak planks and polished stainless steel bed strips and oak sideboards. The roof vinyl is in great shape and well restored. The bumpers are still brilliant with shine and the related stainless is only showing some light patina. It should also be noted one of the headlights is out and this truck has not been converted to modern turn signals. Inside the cab has been accurately restored and the tan interior and upholstery shows little if any wear. There are no options, but a vintage/period correct oil pressure gauge has been added. Under the hood, the 200 CID 4 cylinder is presented as originally produced and has been well maintained with a recent tune-up. Power is transferred through a non-synchronized 3 speed manual transmission to the stock rear differential. The chassis was fully restored some time ago and now shows some light patina but otherwise functions as designed with manual lever brakes and rolling on 16-inch metal wire wheels with era-correct 4 ply vintage tires. This truck would be great to car to just tool around town in, maybe run a few errands stopping at the hardware or the general store, er, we mean grocery store or even for ice cream runs with the little ones! It also would make a great promotional tool for a small business such as a farm stand or garden center or someone in the trades looking to promote a vintage vibe to their operation.
