1969 BOSS 429 CloneThe BOSS 429 was created as a homologation special for NASCAR races. In the late 60s, cars with HEMI engines from the Chrysler concern were the first to exceed 200 MPH (320 km/h) on the oval. Ford decided to develop an engine of a similar concept to compete with it, and so these semi-racing engines found their way into civilian cars. The 858 was created, thanks to which it is now one of the most valuable Muscle Cars. It was not used in NASCAR in the end, because the regulations changed, but it was used as quarter mile race car..The modification was entrusted to the tuning company Kar-Kraft. The engine compartment was expanded and the front axle was modified, all because of the enormous width of the BOSS engine. For insurance companies, the power was stated as 375 horsepower, the real one was over 500. All BOSS Mustangs were equipped with a manual 4-speed transmission and a black deluxe interior.A few years ago, production of modernized BOSS heads started again, which made it possible to build clones of the BOSS 429 engine using the standard 429/460 block. This allowed us to build this amazing Mustang BOSS 429 clone with several improvements. The construction took place in 2010.Our BOSS 429 is designed as a “stroker” which increased the volume from 7 to 9 liters and the power is around 600 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, torque 960 Nm at 4,000 rpm.Transmission: TKO 600 – 5 speed, manual, ceramic-metal dual-plate clutch.Front axle: Independent suspension, double wishbones, coil over shock absorbers with adjustable height from TCI, Wilwood disc brakes, rack and pinion steering.Rear axle:Reinforced live axle from Currie, Truetrac differential, constant gear ratio 3.50, trailing arms and Panhard rod from TCI, coil over shock absorbers with adjustable height, reinforced drum brakes.Visually, all details correspond exactly to the original Boss429 design - front spoiler, intake, discs, tires (Goodyear Polyglass, handmade like the original from 1969)…The price of the original BOSS 429 exceeds half a million euros, which has made it a static museum exhibit.
