Seller's comments about 1959' Land Rover Series II

We love a good classic Land Rover because it looks like its ready for an adventure no matter if its climbed to the top of a mountain or just parked in the driveway. Thats what makes this 1959 Land Rover Series II so appealing. It stands out for the way it retains the look of a true explorer, right down to the details. The Series II is part of the original Land Rover evolution. So we like seeing the well-presented aluminum body keep that absolutely iconic shape. The secret to this cars uniqueness is that this is believed to be a Santana-assembled vehicle. They were licensed via Land Rover for knock-down kits made for places like the South American market (this example was imported from Colombia.) So it likely had most of its life thus far in a warmer-weather climate, and it comes in left-hand drive... two things that are a desirable rarity when looking at a classic Land Rover. This example is done in what holds close to a later Rover color of Inca Yellow. And the green canvas roof does make this feel a bit like a Camel Trophy truck (they even put a decal for it on the back.) The overall appearance feels especially vintage, and the presentation looks clean and complete while still looking like it has been on a few adventures. It even has all the right features for a true voyager, like the classic solid off-road wheels, a durable front bumper, a rear tow hitch, and a full-size spare tire mounted to the hood. Just like the exterior, the interior keeps the authentic feeling going. It has a terrific classic feel with the thin/grippy steering wheel, tall gearstick, central gauges, and proper red and yellow levers for four-wheel drive. Everything feels robust, right down to the rubber floor cover. And we love the upgraded seats. They are nicely done in leather, and they even carried the Land Rover logo. The rear-facing jump benches were even done to match. This custom upholstery still fits into the classic attitude to make sure nothing spoils the true vintage feeling. The 2.25-liter motor is part of the robust tradition of durable Land Rover power. So its great to have this one looking so stock and tidy, and just as important, this continues to run like a well-maintained classic. The control from the four-speed manual gearbox is the true secret for how these Land Rovers conquer every hill they see. And the two-speed 4x4 transfer case is another key to the go-anywhere ability. But the overall condition of this one doesnt look like it spent its life off the pavement. So it can be impressive just to take to cars & coffee. If youre a true lover of the outdoors, this is the ultimate tool to get to your favorite places. And even if you just are going to the hardware store, this looks awesome rolling through town, too.
