The 1964-74 Barracuda is an automotive rarity today. In 1971, a model was produced that was the only one with double headlights at the front, which is why it is often confused with the Challenger. In turn, the first generation had the largest rear window installed in passenger cars - an area of almost one and a half square meters. Each incarnation of the 'Cuda is considered a brilliant combination of sophisticated technology (e.g. hydraulic brakes - unlike the rest of the muscular company) and daring performance. When the fuel crisis broke out in 1972, sales of this great car dropped dramatically, leading to the closure of production in 1974. Plymouth never again appeared on the market in such a spectacular way, becoming mostly a subcontractor of Chrysler, to which it belonged, and the only strong accent, the Neon car, was released by the company at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, after which it was put into bankruptcy and fully absorbed her Chrysler. In the years 1965-74, however, it was one of the best American car manufacturers, which established its position with such successful models as the above-mentioned GTX, Duster, Valiant and the legendary Road Runner. None of these cars lacked vigor and appearance. The company's designers knew in advance what the young generation of drivers expected, how to attract customers and how to play on the right emotions.
