A very smart example of the superb & increasingly rare manual 3. 5 V8, finished in blue with tan leather interior and black vinyl roof, it presents very well with some minor age related marks as you would expect. Sporting Mini-lite wheels it’s also had a modern stereo upgrade and a Mountney steering wheel fitted, with the original steering wheel included in the sale. It fires up on the key with the wonderful V8 grumble and settles into a journey well, holding the correct oil pressure and temperature. The ride is superb, gear changes smooth, steering direct & brakes sharp; hardly surprising given the considerable mechanical works and upgrades it benefits from, including: • LT77 5-speed manual TR7 gearbox. • Fitted with electronic ignition. • Recent part engine rebuild with engine & gearbox out, including carbon deposits removal, internal engine block washed, new steel camshaft, cam followers, gears with roller chain. • New big end shells. • High volume oil pump. • Electronic ignition. • Improved front crankshaft. • High output alternator. • New three-piece clutch. • New front shock absorbers. We cant find any signs of the dreaded P6 rot in the usual places such as boot, inner wings & under the rear seats and note that work was carried out in 2018 in order to comply with MOT requirements. Despite the fact it’s MOT exempt it does hold a current test until November 2023 and the DVLA shows a consistent record of MOT’s with only a handful of years missed. The odometer currently reads 8, 016 miles & checking MOT records we are assuming 108, 016 miles have been covered. We love these cars (can you tell?) and think they are fantastic value for money, the upgrades and recent works make this one of the best we’ve driven and it’s hard to believe it’s a 48 year old car when you’re out on the road…. and we have spent a few very happy miles on A roads, B roads, motorways and lanes in this car, which not only provides a glorious soundtrack but also runs & drives remarkably well and copes brilliantly in modern traffic. According to DVLA records just 2 1975 3500 S’s are currently on the road and good, useable examples are becoming harder to find. Supplied with the owner’s manual and an impressive file of recent invoices, the car is serviced, MOT’d, on the button and ready to be used and enjoyed - a very rare, impressive and practical classic indeed.
