1974 Triumph Stag – Carmine RedExtensive Father & Son Restoration – Bare-Metal Repaint – Major Mechanical & Suspension Rebuild – Huge History FileFirst Registered: 2nd July 1974Offered for sale is this beautifully presented 1974 Triumph Stag, finished in the wonderfully period and particularly attractive Carmine Red, complemented by a contrasting burgundy hood.What makes this particular Stag especially interesting is the considerable amount of time, effort and expenditure lavished upon it during its previous ownership.The car became something of a labour of love for its previous owner and his son, who carried out the bulk of the restoration work themselves over a number of years. Sadly, following the passing of the owner, the Stag has now come to market.This was far more than a simple cosmetic refurbishment.Full Bare-Metal RestorationApproximately seven years ago, the Stag underwent an extensive restoration, including a full bare-metal repaint.Numerous replacement and repair panels were purchased where required during the restoration, including front wing and wheel-arch repair sections for both sides, together with various other bodywork components.Importantly, the car is accompanied by an extensive collection of photographs documenting the restoration, providing an excellent record of the work undertaken rather than simply relying upon a description of what has been done.The result is an extremely attractive Stag in its classic Carmine Red finish.Extensive Suspension RefurbishmentThe restoration extended considerably further than the bodywork.The suspension was removed from the vehicle and comprehensively refurbished, something that is again documented within the accompanying photographic record.A considerable number of new suspension components were purchased, including front and rear suspension bush kits, front and rear suspension bolts and hardware, top mounts, bearings, track rod ends and associated components.Rather than simply concentrating on making the car cosmetically attractive, the previous owner and his son clearly went to considerable lengths to work through the vehicle mechanically.Major Mechanical ExpenditureThe history file contains a substantial collection of invoices, predominantly relating to the major restoration period between 2017 and 2019.Having gone through the available documentation, there is over £10, 000 in documented expenditure on parts, components and associated restoration items alone.This figure is particularly significant because the bulk of the labour was undertaken by the previous owner and his son.
