Seller's comments about 1973' Volkswagen Transporter

Hello! I personally imported the car from Canada 4 years ago. The last photo in the gallery is a photo from the square across the ocean. It took me almost two years to restore it to the condition from the photos. The works I performed included: Disassembly of the complete front and rear axle suspension and the complete drive set. Cleaning the floor and frame elements to bare steel, and three-stage maintenance of the chassis. All suspension elements and rims have been sandblasted and powder-coated in gloss black/white. All rubber suspension elements, all pins, ends and steering rods, bearings of all four wheels were replaced. Braking system: full regeneration of front brake calipers, new discs and pads, all brake lines, new rear brake shoes and drums, parking brake cables, and servo supporting braking. The gearbox was inspected by a company that specializes in this - it did not require repair. All gear selection elements, bushings and the polyurethane gear selector clutch have been replaced. A new clutch kit, covers for all drive joints and axle shaft seals were installed. The engine was overhauled: crankshaft grinding to the first repair dimension, new bushings, cylinder honing, new rings, head machining. The fuel system received a new Weber progressive carburetor, and a new fuel tank was installed by the previous owner. Of course, new tires are also installed. A few weeks ago I installed new upholstery in the entire car. The front seats have been renovated, the rear seat, the mattress in the trunk and the single seat have brand new foams and upholstery material in the same color as the original, but made of a pleasant material, because the factory one was unpleasant imitation leather. No one has ever used the rear seats, the interior smells new, and the windows can be covered with a set of beautiful checkered curtains. I removed the crappy factory heating system from the Cucumber by installing a Webasto, which does a great job of heating both while driving and when stationary. The tent with a raised roof is original - intact, without abrasions, in excellent condition. The radio is an original Grundig from the 1960s/1970s with an added Bluetooth module - so we can play music from Spotify and others. The roller blind over the sliding door probably doesn't come from that era, but it guarantees a few square meters of dream shade in the summer. Despite two years of operation, the car is still not perfect - but which 50-year-old is :) The fridge doesn't work - I didn't need it because I never used it we slept in the wild for more than a day. The washer didn't work either, which I didn't need because Westy doesn't leave the garage in bad weather. The tachometer, which is not original, does not work and I was supposed to replace it with a factory watch, but I didn't have time. Despite using only branded seals, minor oil leaks do occur. The windshield has a small crack in the lower part on the passenger side, but it has been protected against further cracking and is not in the wiper range, so it does not interfere with the inspection or the police. There are spots of corrosion visible on the edge of the left rear fender under the paint. The gutter where the side blind is mounted is most corroded; two pieces of it, several centimeters long, will need to be replaced. The car was painted overseas, so there's nothing special about it. I think it's not a tragedy and unless it ends up in a museum, you can turn a blind eye to it and just enjoy the ride! Of course, it's always garaged. Current inspection and insurance. Due to its age, Westy is a unique vehicle, it is registered with individual T2 WESTY plates - after purchase, there is no need to change the plates, you can drive them regardless of the place of registration. I invite you to Wrocław for a test drive, of course in good weather :)
