Der Aston Martin DBS kam 1967 auf den Markt und war der Nachfolger des DB6. Schon von Beginn an, sollte der DBS, der nun mit der Tradition der DB-Reihe brach, mit einem neu entwickelten Achtzylinder Motor ausgeliefert werden. Der Motor war aber zum Produktionsstart nicht serienreif und so entschied man sich den bewährten Sechszylinder des DB6 weiter zu verwenden. 1969 kam dann endlich der ersehnte DBS V8. Heute zählt er zu einer der seltensten Aston Martin Modelle und ist deshalb ein begehrtes Sammlerfahrzeug. Zunächst sollte Touring aus Mailand, die schon zuvor DB4, DB5 und DB6 zeichneten, das Design des neuen Aston Martin verantworten. Die zwei Prototypen überzeugten aber Firmenchef David Brown überhaupt nicht und so überließ man dem hauseigenen Designer William Towns die Gestaltung des DBS. Eine gute Entscheidung, denn der DBS und sein ähnlicher Nachfolger, der V8, waren die erfolgreichsten Autos der Firmengeschichte.
Von 1969 bis 1972 wurden nur 402 Exemplare hergestellt. Davon nur 40 Stück LHD mit Schaltgetriebe.
Dieser DBS V8 wurde im April 1971 in dieser Farbkonfiguration nach Paris ausgeliefert. Es ist also ein echter LHD mit 5-Gang Schaltgetriebe! In Deutschland wurde der Wagen umfangreich restauriert.

The Aston Martin DBS was launched in 1967 and was the successor to the DB6. Right from the start, the DBS, which now broke with the tradition of the DB series, was to be delivered with a newly developed eight-cylinder engine. However, the engine was not ready for series production at the start of production and so it was decided to continue using the proven six-cylinder engine of the DB6. In 1969, the longed-for DBS V8 finally arrived. Today it is one of the rarest Aston Martin models and therefore a sought-after collector's car. Initially, Touring from Milan, who had already designed the DB4, DB5 and DB6, were to be responsible for the design of the new Aston Martin. However, the two prototypes did not convince company boss David Brown at all and so the in-house designer William Towns was left to design the DBS. A good decision, because the DBS and its similar successor, the V8, were the most successful cars in the company's history.
This DBS V8 was delivered to Paris in April 1971 in this colour configuration. So it is a genuine LHD with a 5-speed manual gearbox! The car has been extensively restored in Germany.
