Comentarios del vendedor sobre 1936' Rover 10

Due to advancing years I have reluctantly decided to part with my beautiful 1936 Rover 10. The car was first registered on 3/ 9/ 1936 to a Mr Atkins who used it in his building business for many years, including through World War 11. Living in Warwick, Mr Atkins became very busy helping to repair damage inflicted during the Coventry bombing, and by the end of the war, the car had covered over 200, 000 miles. Eventually she was pensioned off, but not sold, and later passed into the hands of Mr Atkins grandson, Tony, who set about a full body off restoration in the 1980s which took some 10 years. Due to health reasons he sold the car to Peter Chester in 2011, who sold it to Hamish Orr-Ewing (a former Chairman of Jaguar) in January 2015. Sadly, Hamish passed away only 10 months later, and I bought the car on 8th August 2016.
The restoration is now nicely matured and I would describe the overall condition as excellent. The interior leather is nicely patinated, now looking as if it is very well preserved original trim, and the exterior paintwork has only minor blemishes which one would expect after 30 years use. The engine was bored out to take Rover 12 pistons & is now 1496cc & so is effectively a 12HP engine and still performs faultlessly. As usual with Rovers of this era the car has a freewheel, enabling clutchless gear changes, and rapid down changes on hills. A new set of Michelin tyres have had very little wear.
I have paperwork going back to 1938, including invoices for work done which are somewhat lower than one would expect today!!!
Very little work has been necessary during my five years ownership. I have fitted a new gear box cover, new drag link ball joints, a new rocker cover gasket, new rear lower bump stops, and had the front shock absorbers fitted with modern oil seals.
This is a very practical car of its time, being well served by the trade, and by the excellent Rover Sports Register. Please telephone me or email for more information/ arrange a viewing.
