The “Slant-back” Ford from 1937 evokes all kinds of cool from the romance of the gangster era to the modern cruise night parking light nights of now. With its sweeping sexy curves and Art Deco design of yesteryear clearly represented from the swooping front grill to the engine vents flanking both sides of the nose. Even the recessed tear drop headlamps have their own curve as if nature intended their position. This 1937 Ford Slant-back sedan is emotion in motion with chrome lines defining curves accenting headlamp to windshield and trunk hinge to the suicide door handles. Chrome bumper placement greeting hello and goodbye unlike even the coolest cars of today. Elegant coloring of Dom Perignon Champagne over French Maroon give that air of sophistication as you make your egress from the rear with suicide door open and your Spats planted on the running board as camera flashes and red carpet greet you. But chances are it’s what’s underneath that has your real attention. The plenty powerful and customizable rebuilt 355 cubic inch V8 small block Chevy with chrome aluminum intake, 600 CFM Edelbrock carburetor, chrome aluminum valve covers and polished alternator, compressor and oil pan, Bullet pulleys and brackets to keep everything tidy. Electronic distributor, Hugger Headers and an aluminum radiator to keep it all as cool as it looks. All the wallup your giddy-up needs with an exhaust note to please any ear. Style and grace continue in the camel mohair interior with leather wrapped banjo steering wheel, GM tilt column and shifter aiding in comfort and coolness. Original front and rear opera seating with mohair and up graded safety belts. Dolphin gauges in antique brushed gold keep vitals in check and complement the mostly stark simple dash. Nothing more and nothing less lets you enjoy the ride. And what a ride you’ll take with Chassis Engineering Hedit Mustang front end, power rack and pinion steering, Chassis Engineering duel leaf springs 4 wheel disc brake stopping ability all rolling on 15” Polished American D-Series wheels. 350 Turbo Transmission and 9” rear certainly give you that hot rod get up and go you bought this thing for and with only 1647 miles since rebuild you’ve got a lot of life to enjoy this elegant bad ass time piece. Don’t expect to Uber with this 1937 Ford but do expect to be asked for a ride for ice cream and the occasional lead car in a wedding procession.
