Commentaires du vendeur sur 1946' MG TC
This is a very early MG TC from the first few months of production being I believe the 172nd built out of about 10000 TC’s in total. History shows the earliest models in a series tend to appreciate the most. The car spent most of its life in the USA and in particular under the careful watch of an owner in Ohio who meticulously maintained it for 31 years. This owner then sold the car to his daughter who only put 325 miles on it throughout the duration of her 6 year ownership. The car is equipped with a BMC factory replacement engine (correct XPAG type) which was probably done in the sixties when these cars were often the everyday commuter and thus could wear out an engine – unlikely to happen today with trips to car shows and the pub a more probable use! At any rate the engine change must have happened prior to 1966 when BMC evolved into BMH ahead of the creation of BL in 1968. This is the classic early post war British sportscar with the equally classic colour combination of red with a tan interior. I can only describe it as utterly charming to drive. It has a good straight chassis and the body tub woodwork is also good. All chrome is in good condition and the correct period instruments and sprung steering wheel are in place. There is a tan tonneau cover and a new tan hood is to be supplied to match.
