The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coupé with 2+2 seating was added in 1965 with production continuing until October 1980.
This beautiful roadster was completely renovated by Holsworthy Classics, It was treated to a full strip-down and repaint in its original Tartan Red, fully waxoiled with new front valance and front and rear bumpers, new cross drilled brake discs, new calipers, new GAZ shock absorbers, Hub bearings were fitted which we have the original bills.
The original 4 cylinder engine was removed and a Rover V8 engine was fitted. the engine as with the engine compartment has been fully detailed polished , enameled etc the picture of it does not do it justice Before fitting a new camshaft and followers were replaced along with a new Hollie Carburettor, Starter Motor and alternator, electronic ignition then married to a five speed manual gearbox.
The interior has had the same treatment, Seats re-trimmed in black leather with red piping and new carpets, also benefiting from having a new roof fitted.
All in all a fantastic looking and driving car fitted with the engine that was earmarked for the MGC rather than the antiquated six cylinder it ended up with...
