Comentários do vendedor sobre 1948' Studebaker Starlite Coupe
1948 Studebaker Champion Starlite Coupe ..Burgundy Black Paint Nice ..Brown Leather Like Denim Interior ..72,272 Miles ..6 Cyl 169ci/85hp Engine ..3-Speed Manuel Trans w/overdrive ..Dash Looks Nice ..Optional Studebaker Radio Available ..113" Wheel Base ..Length 197.3" ..Curb Weight 2,620 lbs This 1948 Studebaker Champion was purchased with the 1950 Studebaker front clip already installed and liking the style we decided not to change it. The car was restored in 2003, and placed in the 2005 Studebaker International Meet in Omaha, Nebraska scoring 248 points for a second-place finish. Since the car was modified due to the front clip being changed the car was registered in the modified division. The car upholstery was done with a denim leather looking fabric and the mohair interior roof lining is original. All the glass looks excellent. However, the back glass rubber will need to be replace as it has cracks in the rubber. We replaced the door glass rubber and cat whiskers. Added note: during a heavy rain will have a slight leak.
The car runs and drives very nicely and is a head turner coming down the street. Whether you are a Studebaker nut or just want something the brand x lack in styling this car will make you a center of attention. Now you ask why I'm I giving up and selling this car. Well, come over my house and look over the car, and I will talk your ear off about all my other projects that I'm currently working on taking up much more needed room. Plus I have two other Studebakers that need my driving attention.
Now for a little history about this Studebaker model: Styling of the new Studebaker Champion was executed mainly at Raymond Loewy's studios, with much of the work was actually accomplished by Virgil Exner. The car's appearance was stunning and somewhat polarizing, and the Starlight coupe's large four-part wrap-around rear window, in particular, so closely resembled a front windshield that comedians wondered aloud if the car was coming or going. Nonetheless, the design was futuristic, and proved to be influential than the rest of the American auto industry was forced to play catch-up.
