This is the earliest known surviving cup model and one of the very few existing original cars. It was built in june/ july 1926 and exported to america in the late twenties, returning to the uk in 2013 where it was restored . the car has an interesting history with connections to hollywood movies and houston, texas.

due to water damage and poor repairs the body required to be rebuilt using the original frames as templates. The car has the following original parts :--- chassis , springs, axles , wheels, engine and gearbox , starter motor, rad. shell , bonnet, windscreen , boot-lid , wings, valances , prop-shaft tunnel , ally bulkhead , foot rests , steering wheel, number-plates and cav tail light. The windscreen is very rare and manufactured by beatonson as are the bonnet catches. The headlamps are cav and the sidelights powell and hanmer. The instruments are correct plus an oil gauge, clock , calormeter and klaxon which were additions during the car's stay in america.

the engine was rebuilt by pigsty racing to their trials spec. And the car will drive happily at modern traffic speeds. It is fitted with a ricardo head, a remote concealed oil filter and a neat australian coil conversion. An 1 1/ 4" su is fitted and the original bronze zenith is available if required. The three speed gearbox has ulster c/ r gears fitted. The engine number matches that stamped on the chassis and the chassis number matches that on the austin maker's plate on the rear chassis x member.

the wheels have been rebuilt using the original rims and centres and new tyres, tubes and tapes have been fitted.

the body has been covered in rexine as original and has been painted and lacquered. All parts have been nickel plated.

this car is very accurate in detail and has been carefully restored in an understated way with a patina as befits it's age . please get in touch with tom abernethy at the details supplied if you require further information/ photographs of the car.
