Seller's comments about 1938' Chevrolet

This 1938 Chevrolet Business Coupe is one seriously cool old-school street/race car with real history. Originally raced in the late 60s at Sooner Raceway in Ringwood, Oklahoma, it comes with photos proving its track pedigree. Since the full build, its seen fewer than 900 miles. About ten years ago, the original builder stripped it to bare bones and completed a full body-off restoration over several years, transforming it into the machine you see today. The documentation is solid - detailed build photos and a thick stack of receipts from every vendor used. The receipts alone top $38,000, not counting the car, wheels and tires, custom-built back half, or countless hours of labor. This is a true turn-key beast that can be driven on the street with premium pump gas or blasted down the drag strip. Ive never raced it myself, but Ive drag raced plenty, and judging by how hard this thing pulls, its easily a solid 10-second car. Under the hood sits a 496ci big block built by Precision Engine, featuring 4-bolt splayed caps with all ARP bolts and head studs, an Eagle forged steel crank with H-beam rods, tool steel wrist pins, and aluminum heads. Its running a Lunati Voodoo solid roller cam (40110733), Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnum XD roller rockers, and Probe forged pistons at 11:1 compression. A Milodon oil pan, Melling high-volume oil pump, Holley 850 CFM Brawler carb, MSD 6AL ignition with Pro Comp distributor, and Magna Flow 500 fuel system complete the setup. Power flows through a Herzog-built 4L80 manual-shift transmission with BTE converter and B&M Bandit shifter. Out back is a 9-inch Ford rear end with 4.10 gears and a Detroit Locker. The frame has a complete custom back half with 4-link and QA1 coilovers, while the front retains the stock 38 section with custom tubular Mustang II-style A-arms. Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners provide serious stopping power. The body is steel with fiberglass fenders and running boards. The paint is older, driver-quality, showing some nicks, scratches, and blemishes - exactly what you want in a car meant to be driven. The interior is clean but unfinished, needing carpet, kick panels, and a rear partition if desired. It does have a nice headliner, chrome that shines, fully functional lights, solid doors, and clean glass. It rolls on vintage five-slot aluminum mags - 15x4 up front and 15x10 out back - wrapped in Mickey Thompson Sportsmans, 26x6 front and 29x16 rear. This car has history, attitude, and horsepower to match. Street it, race it, or just park it and watch jaws drop - this 38 Chevrolet delivers raw, old-school energy every time you fire it up.
