Citroën Traction Avant from the moment of its premiere in 1934 at the motor show in Paris (the main production of the car took place at the Quai de Javel in Paris), it caused admiration with the innovative technical solutions used.
It was one of the first cars (after the Stower V5 1930 from Szczecin) with a front-wheel drive (Traction Avant - French for "front drive"), it had a self-supporting body built on a frame plate, independent wheel suspension (designed by Ferdinand Porsche), hydraulic brakes all-wheel drive, self-adjusting motor.
The Traction Avanta body design was not drawn, but was originally carved in clay by sculptor Flaminio Bertoni. With its appearance on the automotive market in 1934, the Citroën Traction Avant heralded a stylistic revolution with single-box bodies.
The car, thanks to the front-wheel drive and improved weight distribution (lowering the center of gravity by placing the seats lower, shifting the engine just under the windshield, and the gearbox forward), stuck to the road well, which allowed for faster cornering. The car was eagerly used by gangsters (hence it was known in Europe as "Gangstalimuzine"), then also by the police and state services, including after World War II by the Polish Ministry of Public Security.
A characteristic feature of this Citroën model was the great brand emblem placed across the entire width of the radiator grille. The model was built until 1957, with several types of engines and several body styles.
Model 15CV, with six cylinders, 2,867 cc. From 1954, it was also available in the Traction Avant 15H version with hydropneumatic rear axle suspension, and this is exactly what we have.
In the 90s, it underwent restoration of the engine on original parts.
