For sale here is a unique 1963 Daimler SP250. The history on this car is outstanding with 5 A4 box folders with the history from almost new. We have years and dates of ownership from new. First registered in London on the 22nd August 1963 to Mr. John Brandon Hayward of Hyde Park Mansions London, this makes it a later “C” spec car. The car was next passed to Mr. James Sydney Wyatt on the 8th March 1965, Dr Richard Duddington Rawlins then acquired the car on the 5th November 1968 it was kept in his ownership until 27th October 1977 when it was purchased by Dr. Charles Peregrin Polford, it then passed to yet another medical person a Dr. John Goldstone who kept the car till April 1981, 8th January 1983 saw a Mr Archibald Mcdonald acquire the car who kept the car until on the 14th May 1993 it passed to yet another medical professional a Dr Anthony White. The last owner a Mr. Andrew Hope acquired the car in April 1997. We have the original Buff logbook showing the first 4 owners stamped. The car also has some very unique extras fitted, rack and pinion steering is fitted and as we all know it’s a must on an SP250, the car has also electronic power steering fitted this makes the car so much nicer to drive and manoeuvre, a Triumph 2000 overdrive unit was fitted in 1994, this really makes a difference on the motorway helping to keep up with today’s speeds and traffic as well as the fitted cruise control, a Hard Top is also fitted as well as the convertible top. I’ve seen lots of sp250s with hard tops and they seem to not fit well, this one fits perfectly and really does enhance the cars looks when fitted. Robert Grinter of SP250 fame has also done quite a few mods on the car as well as servicing work including rear telescopic dampers, Aluminium radiator and header tank, unleaded head conversion, this was done during a full rebuild of the engine, electronic ignition, alternator etc as well as the modification to the rear chassis/ crossmembers. We have bills/ receipts for over £36, 000 spent on the car with maintenance and upgrades since 1997. There is also an article written by Dr White in 1994 outlining how he manufactured the centre console housing the upgrade radio and speakers and some other accessory switches. There is as stated a soft top as well as a full tonneau cover and hood cover along with several spares that come with the car, the original buff logbook, owner’s manual and supplement are also present. The body work and paint show superbly, the leather seats are in good condition but do show signs of slight wear, the carpets were replaced not long ago, wheels and tyres superb all switches, dials etc work and although not required the car will come with a fresh MoT.
