Seller's comments about 1933' Frazer Nash Colemore

1933 Frazer Nash Colmore 3-Seater – Chassis 2093Registered on 1st September 1933, chassis 2093 is the seventh-to-last Frazer Nash Colmore built. Fittingly, the final chain-drive Frazer Nash was also a Colmore — a pleasing historical footnote. Notably, this example is a desirable long-chassis car, offering improved proportions and usability.Supplied new with a Meadows 4ED engine and registered AMF 451 — a registration it still proudly retains — the car was first owned by Mr Shearer. A period photograph dated 1934 shows it finished in white aluminium with black wings, a striking and elegant early colour scheme. The Colmore occupied a well-judged position in the Frazer Nash range, sitting just below the more overtly sporting TT Replica. While little is recorded of the car’s early life, it re-emerged in 1960 when acquired in component form by aircraft engineer Clifford England. Drawing on his professional expertise, England completed the car in 1970 using cold-moulded plywood body construction based on Gougeon principles — an unusual and technically interesting feature that sets this car apart.By this stage, the original Meadows engine had been lost, replaced with a 1946 2. 0-litre AC six-cylinder unit, which remains fitted today. Under current ownership, the engine has benefitted from significant investment, including high-compression pistons and a fast road camshaft, resulting in a lively and characterful power unit.Since its completion, the car has been maintained by a succession of respected Frazer Nash specialists, including Bill Roberts, David Morris, Simon Blakeney-Edwards, Jeremy Brewster, and Winston Teague — the latter carrying out a full rewire in 2019. More recently, Tula Racing undertook further works between March and May 2025, leaving the car well prepared for immediate use by its next custodian. On the road, 2093 starts readily and performs exactly as a well-sorted Frazer Nash should. The chain-drive transmission is notably refined, while the AC six-cylinder engine pulls strongly, complemented by a smooth, characterful exhaust note that suits the car beautifully. With the addition of a rear seat, this is a genuinely usable and sociable Frazer Nash — equally at home on a spirited drive or a relaxed run to the pub.Offered on behalf of its current custodian of seven years, former VSCC President Paul Tunnicliffe.FootnoteAs a Frazer Nash owner, you’re not simply stepping into a world of real driving pleasure — to borrow the BMW line from the 1990s, the ultimate driving machine — you’re joining a genuinely special community. Ownership brings access to a calendar of club-only events, from the Nash Picnic to Frazer Nash-exclusive racing, and the occasional European Raid, where you quite literally (and very amicably) descend upon another country. It’s all part of the experience — and where lasting friendships and memories are made.A proper well sorted, long-chassis Frazer Nash, ready to be enjoyed.
