1959' Jaguar Mk Ix

This is a genuine and very reluctant sale (forced only by a long term progressive illness) of my 1959 Jaguar MK 9. It is a stalled restoration with huge amount of work already completed.

Literally only needs the already restored seating & woodwork bolting back in, and the car will be useable, for its new owner to easily finish.

Your are looking at an honest and very strong original example of Jaguar cars stylish 1950's marque, just requiring only a minimal amount of basic work to finish.

Mechanically superb its 3. 8 litre straight 6 twin overhead cam engine is still strong & powerful, always firing up between 1-3 pushes from the dash button.

Runs beautifully smooth, showing a steady correct oil pressure reading when up to temperature.

Automatic borg- warner gear box, power assisted steering and servo assisted disk brakes all round (factory standard) are all in a good reliable working order.

Last time I drove the car the mechanical and electrical parts, clocks, heater, pumps, lights etc, all functioned and performed perfectly well.

It's lovely original burred walnut woodwork has been completely restored by hand and looks magnificent, see photo, this requires fitting back into car.

Original leather seating has been fully restored and re coloured in red by hand, see photo, this also requires fitting back into car.

If you are wondering it is not rust on the chrome work, & panels! It is a coating of lithium grease I applied to protect the car from rust & corrosion whilst in dry storage, which will easily clean off.

Due to it spending many years in dry storage inc' over 4 years under my ownership, this cars body panels and chassis etc are in excellent shape. Very straight throughout, with no nasty rot. There is a small amount of body work to complete this includes a small crease on the rear o/ s wing, and some small areas of paint bubbling on door bottoms of drivers side. I had already started work to restore these areas.

Chromium plate is all original to the car and in 99% very good rust free condition.

I have purchased a new stainless steel / chrome surround for front windscreen, this is still boxed.

I also purchased a brand new set of pre-cut to shape West of England cloth headlining.

Also purchased a full set of brand new replacement rubbers for front windscreen surround / doors etc, as the current originals are hard, worn out and brittle.

All new replacement parts are correct to this Jaguar model purchased from and supplied by Worcestershire Classics, the Jaguar MK IX specialist.

Even though the car has always been carefully stored in a large dry garage, as mentioned above, I smothered the cars chrome and panels in a light grease. This was purely as a precaution, to stop any corrosion that may try to set in during storage. This will clean off easily and polish up beautifully again.

I had plans to repaint the bottom section of the car in fresh Jaguar silver or blue metallic paint. I'd began flatting the original grey paint work on driver's side before my illness got the better of me.

It has a decent set of 4 matching radial tyres. Spare is a different make looks to be an older tyre.

Exhaust system is good and fitted with stainless steel tail pipes.

Sadly due to long term illness, I no longer possess the strength to complete the restoration of this lovely classic Jaguar.

It now needs to find a new caring owner / custodian and home.
