Seller's comments about 1979' Land Rover Defender

I have a unique vehicle for sale, a Land Rover Series III Station Wagon 200Tdi, i.e. with the popular "two hundred". The patina covering it tells its story, which dates back to 1979. It has been in my hands for 12 years. It is a real Station Wagon, not a hardtop, so it has a Safari roof - a roof over a roof, which does the job in the summer. From the inside, it has opening vents and a period headliner in quite good condition. In the Station Wagon version, you can also remove the upper halves of all doors (and put the windshield) if someone sees any sense in it. This car looks its age, but it drives like a Defender from the 90s thanks to several significant modifications: - conversion of the suspension to springs with appropriate replacement of the front and rear wishbones, torque rod and steering damper; - replacement of axles (Discovery 300), and as a result we have disc brakes on both axles in the only correct combination of the brake pump, corrector and servo system. The latter was only possible thanks to the appropriate reconstruction of the bulkhead. Otherwise, it would be impossible for a modern-sized servo from the Discovery 300 to fit under the narrow hood. - a short gearbox with 5 gears, where 'short' does not mean short gears, but its size. The lever is where the lever should be, not on the back row of seats. Gearbox about 10 thousand. kilometers ago it was completely rebuilt, so it works as it should. - 200Tdi engine, standard, not combined. It starts right up, doesn't smoke, holds power. - Power steering, I don't remember which LR. Recent repairs and modifications - of course, there have been many more of them over the years: - Fuel system + new tank. The previous fuel lines and tank simply biodegraded. - New exhaust system. The previous exhaust suffered the fate of the tank. The above modifications were made many years and many kilometers ago. This has since been reviewed and corrected. With this car I can maintain a speed of 90 km/h on the road and I am not afraid of accelerating over 100 km/h. The only limitation is the aerodynamics of the Ruch kiosk, tires and noise. Due to its age, the car is a historic vehicle, so it can be insured on request, which means there is no obligation to continue it. insurance. And now the disadvantages: - The frame is healthy and there is nothing wrong with it, but the door frames are in poor condition. It is an extremely primitive structure and easy to repair, but repairing them would mean having to paint the door later. I didn't want to do it because I like the patina of this car. Painted would not look so nice and after the door, subsequent elements would have to be painted again, since something is already painted. When rebuilding the bulkhead, it was possible to paint only the inside of the vehicle, i.e. the cabin and the engine side. - Driver and passenger door panels. They are original, which means they are almost gone. - The radiator is reaching the end of its life, but it has been so for another year and it is still not leaking to the extent that would require replacement - The front seats are really comfortable, but that is their only advantage. It would be useful to insert something from the era here. For example, these chairs from Defender, which are not very comfortable in this comparison. The rest of the sofas are original and in very good condition. It's certainly not a 'pearl, a white raven, one of a kind', but our "Grandma" is not a car for someone looking for a classic to put in a display case. A car for someone who appreciates the atmosphere of old Land Rovers, but is not so determined to drive the original with a 2.25 engine, springs and drums. So if the prices of Defenders make you frustrated, or you want to be even cooler than your colleagues in Defenders, this car is for you for you! If you have any questions, please contact me. :)
