In the mid-1960s, you could hardly find anything more prestigious than the flounce of the “King’s Fin”. After Mercedes took the so-called “Adenauer” out of the range in 1962, the W112 became the top model. From 1963 the 300 SE was used extremely successfully in rallying. In its first season, the 300 SE won the Acropolis Rally and the Germany Rally. He celebrated his greatest triumph in South America: at the Grand Road Prix for touring cars in Argentina. Mercedes-Benz achieved an incredible quadruple victory there in 1963 over a distance of more than 4,600 kilometers. And in 1964, Eugen Böhringer and Klaus Kaiser won this extremely difficult long-distance race again in the 300 SE.
From 1961 to 1965, 5,202 examples of the 300 SE were manufactured, only a few of which had a short wheelbase and center gearshift!
The Mercedes Benz 300 SE presented here was completely restored a few years ago by the Mercedes-Benz specialist Kienle without regard to costs and was designed for historical rallying based on the famous competition vehicles of the W112 series.
The car was regularly used in historic rallies and impresses with its surprisingly high level of comfort and outstanding driving characteristics.

In its very first season, the 300 SE won the “Acropolis Rally” and the “Deutschland Rally”. It celebrated its greatest triumph in South America: at the Grand Prix for Touring Cars in Argentina. Over a distance of more than 4, 600 kilometers, Mercedes-Benz achieved an incredible victory in 1963. All four Works cars finished in the top four places.
