The car, known internally as W188, was the most expensive model in the Mercedes range at the time and rarer than the famous Mercedes 300SL (Gullwing)! From 1956 the 300 SC was produced with complex direct injection. There was also more chrome trim.
According to the original data card, this 300 SC Coupé was delivered to Düsseldorf in 1956. At the end of the 1970s the car was sold to a Mercedes agency in the USA. The coupé was extensively restored in the 1980s and won the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) First National Prize in 1988. The car has a very rare steel sunroof, the original suitcase set, fog lights and a Becker radio. The 300 SC is delivered with a fresh inspection, new HU and H license plate.
