Seller's comments about 1968' MG MGB
Hello lovers of classic motoring. I am selling my restored 1968 MGB, a timeless classic convertible that embodies the essence of English motoring. The heart of this masterpiece is a 1.8-liter engine with a power of 96 HP. It's not just a car; it's a legend. This particular car comes from the second series of the MGB line in the chrome bumper version, i.e. with chrome bumpers and chrome-plated spoked wheels. It drives very well, especially on winding roads. I bought the car in England in 2012 in need of renovation, brought it to Poland and after several years of buying and collecting parts, I carried out a complete restoration in a professional company dealing with the renovation of classic cars where I work. Full photo documentation of the renovation process is available. The car was cleaned to bare metal, bodywork repaired with replacement of sills using original parts, anti-corrosion protection and painted in the original color in which it left the factory, i.e. Pale Primrose Yellow. The upholstery was renovated, including the replacement of sponges and seat rubbers, and the complete electrical harness and all electrical instruments that had not survived time were replaced with new cotton-braided ones. The car has a spare engine from 1974 with an overdrive gearbox, which I purchased by accident, and a second complete original engine with gearbox, SU carburetors and accessories. Both engines have been completely overhauled using original parts. The car already has a servo, and I also installed an electric radiator fan and all black silicone water pipes, as well as a new water pump and a new fuel pump with the tank. During the renovation, the roof was replaced with a new one, new chrome-plated spoked wheels (they were originally painted), and 5 new tires - the spare wheel was also new, with chrome-plated spokes. The set also includes a jack and an original, collector's set of keys in a case and a lot of spare parts that I had left from the renovation, plus the odometer recalibrated in England from miles to km. The car is sold with Tonneau Cover, i.e. a cover for the cockpit with the roof folded and a cover for the folded roof behind the seats. The car is equipped with a retro-style radio with Bluetooth, a hands-free system and an electric antenna. It has additional lighting - fog and long-distance halogens - very helpful when driving at night (thanks to them I avoided hitting deer). I also improved the safety a bit by installing new inertia seat belts. The car, after 4 years of quiet and thorough restoration (I was doing it for myself, so I wasn't in a hurry, especially since I overinvested in such a renovation), was registered with yellow plates in 2019, i.e. a historic vehicle and considered a "collector's item". Therefore, it does not require mandatory annual inspections and has valid insurance until August 2025, although it has never been driven in winter. Since then, he has participated in many rallies throughout Poland, and the longest route he covered was almost 800 km, for which he received an award. So far, it has been reliable, last serviced in April 2024, and I have already driven it over 5,000 km since the renovation was completed. The engine oil is changed every year - I use Millers Classic oil. Because after several years of playing with this car, I bought another convertible - Alfa Romeo Spider, so it was time for the new owner to take care of this classic MGB. Don't miss your chance to own a piece of automotive history and continue your adventure. You'll love it, it's more than a car, it's an experience waiting to be enjoyed. If you are interested please contact me for an inspection and test drive or if I would like to send other photos. The price, although it may seem high to some, does not reflect the financial contribution made to the renovation and parts of this car, because when I made it for myself, I overinvested in the project. Wanting to sell the car, I lowered it to a reasonable value anyway. Of course, I am happy to provide after-sales service in my company.
