Seller's comments about 1980' MG MGB

1980 MG BGTUnrestored, never been welded and doesn't need any.Treated with Protectol Cavity Wax from new, underneath, through the door shuts and the internals of the closing panels (doors, tailgate etc). Always garaged by previous owners.All rubber seals in excellent condition, no water leaks into the car.A completely standard un-modified example with some great original dealer options selected of the Stainless Sill Covers, Front Spoiler, 3 Spoke Mota Lita Steering Wheel, Sharp FM Stereo with 2 Hitachi Door Speakers, a Wing Mounted Telescopic Aerial, Front Wheel Arch Liners, 'MG' Mud Flaps and rubber Door Shut Protectors.The engine benefits from a recent service and tune up, balancing the twin SU carburettors, optimising the ignition timing and resetting the ignition points gap by a specialist, making it a user friendly every day British classic car.Recent work on the MG includes, the wheels have been freshly repainted with a brand new set of 165 / 80 / 14 tyres fitted, new pair of front dampers, new fuel tank, new exhaust system, new heater valve, new water pump, new alternator, new carpet set and new wiper arms / blades. Glass is all in excellent condition, with no vertical scratching to the front drop glass, no chips in the windscreen, windows wind up and down with ease and the rear windows open outwards with smooth operation. The engine has great oil pressure, 55/ 60 PSI when hot, this is aided by having a factory fitted oil cooler and is kept cool in traffic by a factory fitted electric fan mounted in front of the radiator which kicks in and out by a thermo-switch. The 4 speed gearbox is showing no signs of wear, no weak synchro's and Overdrive working as it should on 3rd and 4th gear, if used correctly, this effectively gives you a 6 speed gearbox which makes motorway cruising feel very refined for a car of its age. MG B's drive on the road much more modern than their aesthetics would lead you to believe, you really can use one every day.The paintwork is largely original and generally very good, as can be seen from photos, it’s very straight down the sides with no car park dents.Original handbooks, service history and 3x Keys.Eligible to be registered as a historic vehicle, will be supplied with 12 Months MOT.If you have any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
