1968 Austin Mini Moke 1380cc We have so much love for these iconic Mokes here at Duke of London. We have handled the sale of over a dozen original Mokes, like this car, over the past 9 years. None of them have even compared to the ridiculous condition or specification of the car we are offering here. An original 1968 Austin Mini Moke that has been completely and meticulously restored and rebuilt from the ground up in 2012 and covered a mere 400 miles since to date. The car was first registered on 11th January 1968. It had one owner from when it was new in 1968 until 1995. It was then with its second owner from 1995-2011. Its third owner, who commissioned its extensive restoration and upgrades, owned the car from 2011 until 2023. It was taken in part exchange by its most recent owner against another car that they were selling. In 2012, Cooper Cars (aka Moke Panels) set about the exhaustive list of worlds, repairing and replacing all panels of the car as necessary before repainting the car in this glorious shade of British Racing Green. ALL bolt-on components were replaced for new at this time, from minor bolts and fasteners to the entirety of the braking and suspension systems, with suitable upgrades along the way. The cost of this work alone, donor car and running gear aside, ran to over £17, 000 in 2012. The car has a removable roll bar, a removable canvas roof and green seats. It has also had proper seat belts fitted with matching green webbing. Added to the build spec were Cooper S front & rear brakes plus a Cooper S brake booster. To the untrained eye, this Moke looks like a very special and beautifully restored but otherwise stock specification example. Under the bonnet, however, that is far from the case. This Moke sports a riotous 1380cc engine built in 2012, at the time of restoration, by notorious Mini magicians MED. With the car weighing in at just over 400KG and the engine putting out just over 100bhp, this Moke drives like no other. It is hilariously quick. The engine has been built with road use in mind and as such the car idles and runs around town like a relatively-normal Moke. Give it some boot though, and it is keen to light up the tyre and catapult you into the distance. Accompanying the car is a history folder made up of many old MOTs, original factory handbooks, brochures and literature and dozens of invoices relating to the car's restoration, engine build and subsequent nominal work. We are confident this Moke will make a great addition to the most discerning collections, given its history, condition and performance. As with all of our vehicles, we have a digital folder available on request containing more images, walkaround videos, pictures of the underside and scans of the service history. The car can be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.
