Seller's comments about 1965' Morgan 4 Supersports
For sale is this beautiful and genuine Morgan +4 Supersports Low Body from 1965. This is one of 100 +4 Supersports and 1 of 50 low body +4 Supersports which are the nicest and the most looked after. This car, chassis #5926 was initially sold to the US in the Chicago area with the nicest factory setup you could imagine in period to race the car: Lawrence Tuned 2. 2 Triumph Engine with twin webers, aluminium body, 72 spoke wheels, disc brakes, 4. 1 LS diff, tonneau, WRS wheel, bonnet strap, bucket seats, racing wheel studs, fog light... The car started is life as a race car in the US with its first owner Thomas T. Redican (see - details above). Brought back to Europe in 2003 in all original condition when it was bought from Morgan West by its Swedish owner at the time. The car was then fully restored by Brands Hatch Morgans and retains the right amount of patina in its interior to show its age and originality. The car retains its original chassis reinforced where needed. The engine was rebuilt by Mass Recing Developments and has a 2188cc capacity offering 133. 8 bhp at 5586 RPM and a maximum torque of 150 lb. ft at 4050 RPM. Car come with an extensive history file including factory records, pictures of the restoration etc. Chassis number in the Ken Hill book "Completely Morgan 1936-1968" although the chassis number was mistyped as 5936 instead of 5926 but on top of 5927 which validates the typing error. Also the gearbox and the diff numbers are matching number from the Ken hill Book and the factory records. The engine number is not matching as often with race cars. Hood, tonneau, side screens. Recent Librands SS repackable exhaust and new battery. A beautiful running example of this rare car, ready to be used on the country roads for lots of fun. The car car also be prepared as a race car as it is eligible to Le Mans Classic, le Tour Auto and a lot of various prestigious race series (Peter Auto 60's Endurance, Equipe GTS and Pre '63...).
