Concours 1967 Mini Cooper S Mk 1 with an exceptional specification and outstanding performance. The car was purchased in 2015 from specialist The Mini Works. It was tucked away in storage for a long time and has had a no expense spared nut and bolt restoration, carried out by The Mini Works. Where possible original items where retained and anything not meeting the grade was replaced by better items from Mini Works used stock or renewed. The original head was cracked so a replacement alloy 8 port head with fuel injection was fitted with great care to be close as possible to the original 1968 Vita D Spec Engine with T. J. Fuel injection. The mini has been made to look as far as possible completely period correct. Documentation - Registered with the M. C. R. the vehicle comes with the Heritage certificate, a collection ofrare brochures and literature, including very rare original BMC Mini RAC embossedHomologation papers with details of Homologated parts for the Arden 8 port head andancillaries. Also present is an original special tuning A4 binder with all Leyland vehicle special tuning options including special tuning for the Cooper S and the 8 port alloy head and some other very nice original items of literature. Body shell -The body shell was completely stripped and blasted and rebuilt with all new panels whererequired and then painted in its original Almond Green with old English white roof. All cavities and exposed areas have been filled with protective wax. All Original date stamped glass apart from the front windscreen which is new. Engine and transmission -Original Cooper S engine block and crank with H beam steel con rods, Omega pistons, Kent Road camshaft, ceramic coated Maniflo 4 branch exhaust manifold matched to 2 inch Maniflowcentre exit exhaust. Four syncro Cooper S box with Swiftune Quaife ATB diff matched toSwiftune hardy spicer output flanges with tall 3. 2 Differential gear ratio. Suspension - Replacement fully adjustable dry suspension with KAD rear brackets, mini spares frontadjustable castor with neg camber arms and Bilstein shock absorbers front and back. Comes with Five 4. 75 alloy FIA approved rose petal wheels with Dunlop period performance tyresand Five Cooper S 4 1/ 2 steel wheels with chrome hub caps and Yokohama tyres. Braking system - Original S braking system with the correct original working Servo plumbed into the throttle bodies, Minifin rear drums and all hoses are Goodridge stainless items. Fuel and ignition system - A great deal of time went into the Fuel injection and ignition systems to get it to look period correct for a 1960s mini with T. J. fuel injection. Modified throttle bodies, Bespoke alloy mounting for coil pack fitted in the originaldistributor mounting with custom made Magnecor leads. Weber pressure regulator with T. J. Tecalmit top, Glencoe high pressure fuel pump with Bosch filter in a custom-made cradlemounted in the original fuel pump mounting position on the sub frame with bespoke hiddenswirl pot, both rear MK1 Cooper S fuel tanks are modified with hidden return lines but looktotally original inside the boot. All fuel lines are aircraft spec AN6 Ethanol proof Interior - Rear seat and headlining are originals, front seats are replacement Newton commercialCooper S recliners finished in the original dove grey and porcelain green. The original 120 MPH Speedo has been mounted on a Broadspeed centre dash with the builtin mounted rev counter. Rare 14 Motorlita John Cooper signature steering wheel, refurbished Britax seat belts which have been re-chromed and new correct webbing fitted. Full refurbished factory jack with original bag. Original BMC accessory fire extinguisher, tyre pressure gauge, Tartan travel blanket and BMC tool kit roll. Under rear seat wicker storage basket. 1960s works spec John Alley 3 point rear cage mounted into the rear side pockets andcarefully trimmed (not FIA approved) Exterior Original Morris cooper grille, bonnet badge and petrol caps that have been re-chromed. (Also comes with the lighter Austin Cooper repro grille) All chrome fittings have either been re-chromed or replaced. Door mounted over taking mirror. Electrics. New correct cloth braided wiring loom front and back with hidden ECU and cut out switches. Export spec RHD Cibie halogen headlamps. 1960s hazard flasher switch hidden under dash. Eight port head. The 8 port head is fully homologated and was designed with racing in mind, the head wasdeveloped in 1966/ 7 to take full advantage of the change in Group 2 racing regulations. BMC homologated the head and sold it as a special tuning conversion part.
