Just arrived with us here at RFH Classics we have this stunning early Split Screen 1952 Morris Minor 918cc MM High Light finished in Birch Grey with Maroon Trim. This beautiful example has been the pride and joy of the previous owners since they purchased it 63 years ago in 1960, how great is that to find. Some refer to this as Series 1 but after checking it is officially an MM Highlight, obviously referring to the headlight position being in the wing and not down in the grille.
The bodywork on this very British classic is in lovely order and clearly it has been very well cared for by the previous owner, when we collected it the car was fitted with custom fit seat covers that have clearly protected the seats from any significant wear and the matching Red carpet is in very nice condition. The two tone dash that greets you as you sit in the car is showing little to no wear and the gauges, oil and fuel both work well. Just under the edge of the dash find the two way switch which operates the semaphore indicators which is lovely to find working all correctly.
Under the bonnet sits the 4 cylinder 918cc engine which at the pull of the starter knob fires into life. The lovely side valve engine, that changed little from the 30's when it was first introduced, is running on Super Plus unleaded and has a good oil pressure. This is paired to 4 speed manual gearbox with a floor selector. Under the bonnet presents very well with the paintwork matching the high standard of the exterior finish.
In the office we have a great history file for the car, looking through this it is lovely to see little treasures such as the original Buff Style Log Book. a copy of the 1960's finance agreement they used to purchase the car along with extensive old invoices all from the same garage that have worked on the car from at least 2008 all the way through to earlier on this years looking at the invoices. In addition there are two red folders with details of servicing work showing invoices all the way back to 1960. Other paperwork includes the original operators manual and MOT tests that date back as far as 1961. We are lead to believe that the car was stored between 1973 and 2008 and then subsequently restored to the fantastic condition it is in today.
