Seller's comments about 1949' Morris Series Mm Lowlight Saloon
Fully roadworthy daily driver. Sadly, I need to sell my lovely MM lowlight which I have owned for many years, steadily improving and refining its mechanicals. The body and underside are totally sound (see photos). The interior needs more work. I originally rebuilt the sidevalve engine, but was unhappy with its lack of guts (918 cc 27bhp) so I rebuilt a 948 cc 55bhp engine from the 1950s (This within the 10 year engine transplant rule for DVLA's historic status). Engine work was carried out by Paul Inch, renowned A series mini racer and engine builder. He fitted it with a high torque cam, as he knows I prefer torque to top end bhp. I rebuilt the unleaded head with roller rocker arms, twin SU carbs and four branch exhaust manifold. This engine is mated to a beautifully slick newly reconditioned 1098 ribbed gearbox. The rear axel is fitted with a 3. 7:1 differential from a Sprite. The breaks are all renewed and original. I do hope someone will treasure this little gem.
