Seller's comments about 1976' Pontiac Firebird

Its hard to resist a 1976 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am finished in a bright red. After all, it looks fast just standing still. And with a big 400ci V8 under the hood, it knows exactly how to live up to the impression this T/A gives. The red was an update later in life, and we know why the color was changed. After all, this paint gets you speedy distinction without having to go with the black and gold look. And 1976 is the right year for a bold color, because it was the only year that the early 2nd gen round headlight design met with the full color-matched bumper look of the later cars. Not only is this a sought-after year, but also we love the Trans Am because it looked like a racecar for the road. The wide fender flare treatment, side fender vents, and wraparound rear spoiler seems like they were made for the racetrack. And the shaker popping out of the hood is always a great power move. Plus, these had a ton of style with the iconic hood bird leading the way. And the silver with black on this screamer coordinates with the Trans Am logos and birds seen on the rest of the car. Even the snowflake alloys seem to follow this color theme. Black interiors always look great on these T/As, but when the carpeting, headliner, and seats are this well-done, they just seem extra inviting. This was born with some nice features, like a tilt steering column, power windows, and a center console. This was even came with factory air conditioning (it was deleted for a power focus, so you will need components to return the full function.) Plus, there are well-placed upgrades, like a newer heater core and the AM/FM/CD stereo with modern Bluetooth. High-back front bucket seats, Pontiacs special three-spoke sports steering wheel, and the aggressive machine-turned instrument panel are all part of the factorys package. And this one even has a large AutoMeter Sport-Comp tach upgrade. The 400 cubic-inch V8 is one of those great Pontiac motors, and so we really like how this one is presented. It keeps the classic Pontiac turquoise on the block, and you see it so well because its a high contrast against the clean mate black inner walls, valve covers, and air intake. The four-barrel carburetor inhales deeply, and the V8 loves to howl when you get up into the higher rev ranges. But more than just listening to the dual exhaust, follow its path in the undercarriage photos. The super clean appearance tells you this has the right preservation/restoration, and the sway bars front & rear remind you of the T/As reputation for capable handling. Plus, this is a good all-around cruiser with nice features such as the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front discs. The sale come with Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) documentation w/reproduction buildsheet as well as receipts documenting some of the regular maintenance over the years.
