For 1972, all Porsche 911 variants received the 2. 4-litre (actually 2, 341cc) engine, by which time the range-topping 911S featured the stronger Type 915 five-speed gearbox and 6"x15" Fuchs alloy wheels as standard. The most obvious external change from the outgoing 2. 2-litre models was the addition of a small chin spoiler, adopted to improve high-speed stability. Porsche developed a reputation early on for their surprising performance from their small displacement rear-engine sports and racing cars. These "giant killers" could outperform cars with much higher horsepower figures by making light cars with incredible handling. This combination gave Porsches their truly unique driving characteristics and solidified their dedicated following of Porsche enthusiasts.

1969 ushered in the first major changes to the iconic Porsche 911. Our car was manuafactured in November 1972 and sold new by the Porsche Dealer in Verona Italy and spent the first 14 years of its life there in the hands of a couple of enthustiastic owners before being purchased by Brian Puig, an English Advertising Executive, who loved the so much he took it back to the UK with him in 1986, since then she has only had a further 4 owners with the last owner having her for over 21 years! We have a huge history going back to Italy with Italian Librettos and ownership history and many invoices for restoration work over the years. In the last ownership the car has been restored inside and out, to everyday driving levels, not for Concours events. There is every MOT since 1986 and huge expense in the last few years including a full respray and interior re-trim.
