A Porsche 924 in very good condition. The first production road-going Porsche to use a water-cooled powerplant, and the first to use the front-engine-rear-wheel-drive layout in the company's history. Exterior: The body of this 924 is very straight as seen on the pictures. Paint is in very good condition with no signs of dents, chips, tears or scratches, basically a show car. There is minimal ageing wear on the door handels. Rims and all other exterior details look very good. Interior: Interior is very clean with minimal ageing wear on the leather seats and carpets. Seats do not have any tears, rips or stains. Mechanics: This example of the 1980 Porsche 924 is powered by its original 2. 5 L Porsche M44/ 40 inline four cylinder. It came with a 5-speed manual transmission. The car is excellent to drive with, has a very responsive engine and has a very good handling to it. The car just looks to be an excellent, mechanically sound example of a highly desirable car. History: Introduced in 1976, the Porsche 924 was the first production road-going Porsche to use a water-cooled powerplant, and the first to use the front-engine-rear-wheel-drive layout in the company's history. The car's angular styling, with its wedge-shaped nose and those oh-so-popular pop-up lights, were designed by Harm Lagaay, and sealed the car's popularity. It was arguably, though, with the Turbo and S models that the car came into its own. That extra performance made all of the difference to a great-looking but relatively slow Porsche. In 1985, when Volkswagen discontinued the EA831 powerplant, Porsche popped in the 944's 163 bhp 2. 5 litre straight four, tightened up the braking - and created the 924S, easily the most desirable of the model. Thanks to a relatively short run as they moved into more expensive cars, the 924S was retired in 1989 - making these particularly rare and sought after. This example, finished in Zermatt silver, is in very good condition, with a tidy interior and excellent paintwork. This is a fantastic opportunity to own a classic Porsche that's ready to drive and enjoy.
