Seller's comments about 1933' Rolls-Royce 20/25

We are delighted to offer this stunning, 1933 Rolls-Royce 20/ 25, bodied as this fabulous limousine by Hooper.
Hailing from possibly the “golden-era” of Rolls-Royce, the 20/ 25 was designed to be the entry level vehicle into the prestigious and elegant variety of luxury cars produced by Henry Royce, following its release in 1929. As successor to the “twenty”, the engine capacity was increased from 3128cc to 3675cc, which also meant it rose to an output of 25hp. Production had ended by 1938, after building and selling over 3800, and was acclaimed to have been largely responsible for keeping the company’s marque maintained in a very rigorous time for Rolls-Royce.
Chassis number GWX23, registered 12/ 01/ 1933, was originally supplied to Commander Walter Gilman of Surrey in 1933, who sent the car to be bodied by Hooper 6 Light, renowned as purveyors of carriages to “royal and distinguished patrons”. Its time following up to 1974 is fairly vague, however in 1974 it is known that the car was shipped to the USA, where it remained for many years before being repatriated in 1989 by Mr Kennith Jenner, a well known figure in the Rolls-Royce world in Kent. That same year, it was then sold to its previous long-time owner, Mr Ron Wanmer of Hailsham. Mr Wanmer had it undergo a major cosmetic restoration across the bodywork and interior, finished to a superb standard, including leather seats front and back. The car was then only used for a number of local events and weddings for many years. The current owner purchased the car in 2021, also using it for light outings, weddings, while being stored in his museum throughout his ownership.
AGU 333 is offered in a brilliant, clean and usable condition, both mechanically and cosmetically, with a mileage of 51, 000, believed to be genuine on the engine numbered C8K. The body, number 5002, originally black and dark blue, is finished in creme and black, while the brown interior feature its 2 occasional seats, wind-up window partition, woodwork and door cards, all in a smart condition. Electric indicators have been fitted, however it still has the original vacuum operated signals.
There is a comprehensive level of paperwork including, the Rolls-Royce build sheets, numerous old MOT papers going back to 1989 confirming the mileage, duty paid papers, various invoices for the work carried out, the V5C, and the original drivers handbook.
The 20/ 25 has marked itself as a significant part in Rolls-Royce’s remarkable history and is a car that highly resembles all the attributes associated with its enduring reputation. This example is a testament to the extraordinary craftsmanship and build quality through its excellent condition, extremely impressive for a car over 90 years old.
