Seller's comments about 1971' Triumph Gt6 Convertible

Welcome to the sale of my Triumph GT6 convertible/ Spitfire 6.

- Partially rebuilt and serviced by Southern Triumph Services in Bournemouth, have all the paperwork and you are more than welcome to check this information with them (they also took care of my previous Spitfire Mk4 and my current Standard 8)
- Chassis welded and repainted, as solid as it gets
- Body repainted 4 years ago by previous owner, not my favourite done job to be honest, but I also will include 1 litre can of paint with matched colour (£56)
- Dolomite 1850 3-rail J-type Overdrive gearbox reconditioned by Overdrive services (this is the “holy grail” gearbox for a GT6)
- New quieter prop shaft
- WOSP high torque starter motor
- 3:63 differential (Hardy Engineering reconditioned)
- Twin Stromberg reconditioned jet adjustable carbs (original GT6 carbs are included, both working when taken out but may benefit from servicing/ rebuilding, I will include Burlen kit, £157. 94)
- Alloy Rocker cover (original is included in the sale)
- Halogen headlight conversion
- All new interior panels from Park Lane classics, including doors, rear wheel arches, B pillars, rear cockpit panel, door vinyl, crashpad upper and lower, retrimmed centre console (not installed as I don't fit in the car with it but it will be in the boot)
- both new parcel trays plus refurbished support rails
- Seat covers replaced, these are cheap ones but foams are from Park Lane classics, so may benefit from new better quality ones
- Electronic ignition (original points one plus modern replacement distributor included)
- Fuel pump replaced, original glass dome included (reconditioned)
- New NOS tachometer and speedometer (this last one calibrated by Speedy cables to match this particular gearbox and differential)
- All gages new, NOS or reconditioned
- LED dashboard lighting
- New thermostat (88ºC) and new temperature sender
- IC controlled voltage regulator for 10V gauges (the one behind the speedometer)
- Dashboard reconditioned (French polish)
- New soft top (James Paddock)
- Hard top included (reconditioned to be used in the winter, I will include rest of the white paint)
- Servo brakes
- Twin sports exhaust
- New aluminium radiator (made in the UK, not cheap Chinese knock off)
- New Yasua battery
- Restored metal front quarter and central lower (bib) valances
- The weak link of this car if you know your Spitfire/ GT6 is the rear end, this has been rebuild several times up until we found the right UJ/ half shaft/ flange/ bearings combination and now is quite solid, it has never been quieter! (As much as a Triumph can be)
- New cigarette lighter and ashtray
- Waxoiled under and inside body
- Reconditioned x4 GT6 5. 5J wheels with new tyres
- New heater valve
- x2 new door handles and replaced key barrels
- Petrol tank locked lid
- Both rear brake cylinders
- New water pump
- Completely flushed cooling system, yes, including the bolt of the right side of the block

I have all the receipts for this and you are welcome to come and check them out and of course, will be included in the sell.

I went back and forth to Spain through France twice with this car and never let me down. This is not a concourse car and was never intended to be, this is a solid classic daily driver that gets lots of attention and looks in awe specially when driving top down. Although the car is fun to drive and I really enjoyed having it I am 6'3” and I want something bigger and this sell will fund most likely a 1967-68 Ford Mustang Fastback.

To be honest the amount of money and work I put on this car is not worth the price I am asking for but I believe that things should be passed on for someone else to enjoy.
