My Triumph Spitfire Mk2 (the rarest Spitfire variant) is an original home market right hand drive car, which is finished in its original factory colour combination, of signal red with a black leather interior. It is a matching numbers example, which was built on the 25th of October 1965 and despatched on the 26th of January 1966, by Berkeley Square Garage Ltd.

The car’s heritage certificate confirms all of the above, along with the factory optional extras at the time. These were a heater, windscreen washers and a black tonneau cover (which I no longer have). The car is believed to still wear its original registration number plate too.

The car has only done 97, 571 miles from new, by its 3 previous owners. Interestingly, the Spitfire had been in the previous owners family for nearly 50 years and according to the son (whom I purchased it from), it had always been garaged and well-looked after by his father. To validate this, the car comes with some history; the file contains some MOT’s which date back to September 1991 and invoice from 1984. According to the MOT certificate, the car has only done 2, 153 miles in the last 30 years!

Subsequently, the previous owner (the son) had the car recommissioned in 2016 at a cost of £3, 480, shortly after his father unfortunately passed away. His father was a big triumph enthusiast, who took it to many events; especially in the 1970's and 1980's.

The aim of the recommissioning was to:

- Completely go through & overhaul as necessary and re-commission the vehicle
- Strip down & overhaul carburettors
- Replace complete exhaust with stainless steel system
- Completely overhaul braking system
- Replace all four tyres
- Replace key set
- Replace the battery
- Go through & overhaul suspension and replace swivel boots
- Cut out & replace corroded bodywork, paint and repair as necessary
- Waxoyl the underside of the vehicle

Since I have owned the car over the last year, the car has benefitted from a full bare metal re-spray completed by friends of mine, who have their own paint shop. There is full photographic evidence, with all of the attached part invoices in the history file. My reason for selling the car having only had it for a year, is that I need to fund a new project.

Subsequently, the car is structurally solid and is in great condition with a wonderful finish. It is a very reliable car, which is ready to be enjoyed and driven by its new and deserving owner. The car doesn’t currently have an MOT, but I am happy to put a new one on for a new buyer (it is taxed until the 1st April 2022).

Moreover, I must add that the car includes an original hard top, but there isn't a soft top, as I never got round to purchasing one. I do however, have a frame for a soft top. The only area that lets the car down slightly, is that there are sizeable rips to both the drivers and passenger seat, so I would recommend tending to these areas, by getting the seats reupholstered in the near future.

I have lots of extra photographs of the car, so please feel free to get in contact if you would like to see these extra photo's, or to view/ purchase the car. Cheers
