Only the front bumpers and rear light brackets show minor pitting. The removable Surrey Top has also been restored during painting of this unit and is in excellent condition despite a small dent on the rear left. The hard top in “TRIUMPH Racing Green 25” and the soft top in black faux leather fit easily and are sealed according to era standards. The headlining of the hard top in black faux leather is in average condition. The 4 chromed 15" wire wheels and their 4 new knock-offs are in excellent condition. The two front GOODYEAR tyres show 50% wear; the two rear Hankook tyres show 5% wear. This unit is equipped with a spare wheel.Among the interesting options and “Body / Exterior” equipment this car has, we noted:- 4 chromed 15" wire wheels- Surrey Top and Soft Top.Interior:The cabin has been restored to its original spec a few years ago and now presents in very good condition. The black faux leather upholstery with white piping is in good condition, with no signs of wear or fading. Two tears were noted on the passenger seat back. The matching door panels are also in very good condition, with no interior access marks, no sagging or fading. Only the door tops show minor cosmetic defects. The wooden dashboard and black faux leather dashboard cap were replaced during restoration and are in new condition. The entire JAEGER instrument cluster and LUCAS ammeter are fully functional. This car retains its original TRIUMPH 3-spoke bakelite steering wheel, in good condition with a uniform patina. The TRIUMPH wooden gear knob is in excellent condition. The Black carpets are in very good condition, with no wear or fading.Among the interesting interior options/ equipment this car has: the Black leather upholstery with White piping, the Triumph wooden gear knob, and the 3-spoke bakelite steering wheel.Chassis:A hoist inspection confirms a healthy chassis and body, with no accident damage or obvious structural corrosion. The fundamentals – floors, rocker panels, ladder frame, sills and wheel arches – are in very good condition. As a general rule we cannot guarantee absolute alignment perfection beyond what is visually and functionally confirmed during road testing and hoist inspection.During the dynamic test we noted no abnormal rattles from the body or running gear (joints, bushings, etc.).During restoration our workshop replaced the rear springs and performed a full chassis geometry alignment with suspension set-up.Braking is aligned and effective by era standards.Front discs and pads are new (invoice €709).Rear drums are fully functional and free of seepage.A pre-delivery technical inspection will verify proper operation of the whole system.Engine / TransmissionThe mechanicals are running perfectly.Compression tests and road test by our workshop confirm a healthy 4-cylinder.In 2017 our workshop stripped the mechanicals and carried out a complete engine refresh including replacement of the 4 pistons and rings, 8 tappets, big-end and main bearings, timing chain and oil pump (invoice: €5, 778).All engine gaskets were replaced and the original cast iron cylinder head was replaced with a new aluminium head (invoice: €2, 940).Cooling radiator also replaced (€360) along with the two SU H6 carburettors (€660).The aluminium fuel tank is new.Starting is easy, with no smoke or unusual noises.Idle is smooth and the engine runs cool.Oil pressure cold is 60 psi at 900 rpm.Note: A proper bedding-in regime is recommended: 500 km at 2, 500 rpm max, then 1, 000 km at 3, 500 rpm max followed by an oil change and cylinder head torques check. On the road, the 4-cylinder pulls cleanly through the gears with no stutters. The 4-speed plus Overdrive type J gearbox was replaced new in 2017 by our workshop (invoice €2, 832).The four gears mesh smoothly, with no syncro issues.Clutch bite is good. This unit has a desirable feature: Overdrive. It functions perfectly, giving an electric-boosted ratio for 3rd and 4th gears. In 2016 our workshop rebuilt the rear axle, replacing bearings, seals, oil seals and the bevel pinion. The 4-cylinder note is enhanced by a twin exhaust system. As with many older engines, engine/ gearbox/ brear through-assembly seals remain only average.Other similar vehicles are also available. 50 photos + engine video running on CLASSIC-A
