Seller's comments about 1979' Volvo 244

Volvo 244DL for sale - Car has great potential for flipping and making a few quid or simply spend a few hundred on making it your classic daily!

Although these cars have not rocketed like the early Ford Escorts they are desirable and rising in value.

I have owned and enjoyed this old girl for the past three years and apart from a little wobble at the beginning (head gasket) she has never let me down!

The car has always been covered on my drive and rarely taken out in the rain as some small spots of rust are appearing on the driver side doors and rear arches.

The car sits quite low on coilovers and can be adjusted to suit new owners ride hight and softness. there is also a

OTHER BITS
DVS panhard bar on the rear axle.
Nardi wooden rim steering wheel.
Classic Volvo P1800 gear knob.
Earlier sought after round headlights fitted.
Original radio (i have never had this working).
Retro fitted functional CD player in the glove box.
Scorpion immobiliser.
Full set of keys.
New head gasket and associated parts fitted (gasket, bolts, water pump, cambelt, thermostat, distributor, plugs, leads).
New tie rod ends.
New lower ball joints.
New front wheel bearings.

BAD BITS
No MOT since 2019 - runs and drives fine and would only need a few tweaks to pass an MOT.

Break lights do not work - I was messing around with fuses and managed to cause a fault somehow!

Bonnet pull does not work - the cable seems to have seized so as a temporary fix the bonnet is opened by a small wire coming out from the grille.

Rear arches - when you look closely at the arches it is clear that they are not perfect but they don't look too bad from a distance.

Driver side doors - both doors have small rust patches along the bottom edge.

Thermostat needs changing - reads slightly above the 'normal' halfway mark on the gauge but never overheats into the red.

Milometer does not function - it has read 143k since i have owned the vehicle (2019) i have driven an etimated 5k in that time.

Driver seatbelt is a bit sticky and has to be pulled out slowly.

Blower does not function - when warm there is a trickle of warm air coming through. i have never delved into seeing what is wrong here.
