Seller's comments about 1933' Chevrolet Master Eagle
1933 Chevrolet CA Master Sport Coupe
How long has it been since you’ve seen one of these that hasn’t been hot rodded and stuffed full of late-model running gear? Far less common than the Ford 3-window coupes, the 1933 Chevrolet Master Sport Coupe remains a triumph of affordable car design, a car that was inexpensive to buy but looked like it should have cost hundreds more than its modest $535 (about $12,516 in today’s market) original sticker price would suggest. In barn find category condition, it’s truly a gangster car with presentable black paint for the body, what appears to be the original mohair interior, and purported to be a 4-owner car. It’s got wonderful lines and steel spoked wheels with some snappy moon caps. Read on and fall in love with 1933 all over again.

Exterior Leading the way is the egg-crate filled and chrome corral grille up front and the single chrome bezel-encased headlight on either side to light your way. The horn hangs below the driver’s headlight and moving downward gives us a view of the simple curved chrome bumper framing the lower of the car’s curvaceous front fenders, which are bathed in black. A long cowl hood has horizontal ribbed side vents and connects to the passenger compartment at the firewall.
More black covers the body with light fading of the finish, lacquer cracking, and overall patina from age. The central roof panel is heavily aged black vinyl, as full steel roof pressing was not yet common for the era. The rounded cabin melts into the trunk line and frames the single doors, with a D-shaped rear pillar glass behind the main window. All glass appears original except the right corner glass, which shows a different tint. Below the doors is a running board in black rubber, aged, cracked, and partially missing.
At the rear, the body flows into a black rear roll pan with an externally mounted spare tire and matching rear bumper. 18-inch black wire wheels wear heavily dry-rotted whitewall tires, with chrome moon caps on all wheels including the spare.
Interior Worn and quite possibly original tan mohair broadcloth covers the interior, including door panels and a buttoned tuck-and-roll bench seat. Black rubber matting covers the floor. There is moth damage, light tearing, and general wear on the seat. A large black steering wheel fronts a black-painted steel dash with dual crescent-shaped wood veneer panels. The factory instrument cluster sits in a ribbed chrome surround. A long shifter and handbrake are mounted on the floor in front of the bench. The trunk is rust-free and fairly clean in all steel configuration.
Drivetrain A patina-covered 206.8ci inline 6-cylinder engine sits under the cowl hood. It features a single 1-barrel carburetor and is missing its oil bath air cleaner. A 3-speed manual transmission connects to a 4.11 rear axle. Overall, the engine bay remains fairly complete with aged but intact wiring.
Undercarriage Surface rust and patina are present on the X-frame and body supports, but no invasive rust is noted. Wood flooring remains intact along with the underside of the running boards. Suspension consists of leaf springs front and rear, with mechanical drum brakes on all four corners.
Drive-Ability Fresh from long-term storage, the engine does turn over by hand but no attempt was made to start it. This is a true barn find with no signs of rust-through and a very original interior. It has not been cut up or modified into a hot rod. It will require a full restoration to return to road use.
