1964 Ford Anglia 1200 Super
FIA Historic Race & Rally Car
FIA/ HTP Renewed in 2023
Date of first registration - 15. 06. 1964
Chassis Number - H26D067869
This Ford Anglia 1200 Super is built to FIA 1175 Homologation specification. Following a comprehensive re-build costing in excess of £40, 000. 00 the car has seen very little use.
Complete with HTP papers this car offers the opportunity to take part in a diverse selection of race series, and is now a seriously potent and competitive machine.
Eligible for FIA road rallies and historical events such as the U2TC Championships, Goodwood Revival, Spa six hour and much more. Originally used for rallying, this car has a long history and has enjoyed lot's of success whilst in the hands of Patrice Wattine and others. It went on to race within the HSCC - Dunlop Thermex championships before a complete strip and rebuild began.
The Restoration:
The car is fully seam welded and has a stiffened and strengthened floor in order to accommodate the roll cage. Alongside being stripped back to bare metal it’s underside was bead blasted to remove all previous paint.
Brand new, original specification Ford steel wings were purchased and new door shut panels were welded in to get the newly re-skinned doors to fit the body apertures correctly, New rear panels were also fitted.
The exterior, interior and underside were sprayed then baked. The doors with their new skins were then fitted with a brand new window kit and new laminated windscreen. The door cards, and headlining were installed prior to the fitment of the roll cage.
Engine:
Now equipped with a DAMICO 1200cc engine built to strict FIA specification. This engine is currently limited to 7500rpm for longevity, but is capable of reaching more than 8500 rpm if required. In its current state of tune it is producing in the region of 130 bhp.
All engine components are new and balanced. The block and head have been extensively worked on. The cam was specially chosen to make the car easy to live with and to give a smooth power delivery.
The current exhaust is a 105 decibel system designed and fitted by Alan Dent. In order to make long distance races such as Spa six hour feasible the car has a 12 gallon, foam filled fuel tank.
Interior Detail:
The dashboard is as per the original car, with the addition of an electronic rev counter and an extra large oil warning light. The original ignition remains and the car is started using its original key. All exterior lights, windscreen wipers, washers and horn are functional. An MSA/ FIA compliant rain light is fitted, as is an electric fan and a fire extinguisher system. The racing seat is suitable for a HANS Device and is compliant with FIA/ MSA regulations.
Suspension & Brakes:
The suspension was modified within FIA regulations and corner weighted by Alan Dent. New bearings, seals and flexible brake pipes were fitted. In short, the entire braking system was replaced, along with new dampers all round and FIA compliant disc brakes to the front.
Gearbox :
Now fixed with close ratio gears, a racing clutch and new bearings and seals.

Benefiting from being fully road registered, this fantastic motorcar is to be sold complete with UK V5 logbook and a vast history file containing comprehensive details and photographs of its restoration.
