1928 Ford Model A Roadster Pickup This open cab roadster version of the venerable 1928 Ford Model A roadster pickup that has been carefully restored is now gracing our overstuffed Hallowed Halls and on consignment waiting for you. As seen by the photos, the underside is as beautiful as the topside and virtually no stone was left unturned during the restoration. Very nice 2-tone paint, a rebuilt engine, a new top, a 12 volt conversion, an upgraded intake manifold and modern carburetor, and mechanically sound, this nearly 100 year old truck is a show stopper! Exterior All panels and exterior surfaces are shown in very nice condition. The shiny chrome grille surround and mesh guard encircle the radiator and is flanked by chrome bucketed headlights attached to a chrome tie-bar, chrome twin bar front bumpers and lower mounted signal/running lights are all in pristine condition and accent the truck beautifully. A maroon body with black fenders and running boards and 21-inch black painted wire wheel accents makes this truck look just stunning. Even the engine bay is very clean and has seen a lot of attention to detail. An ivory top has been installed and shows in crisp clean vinyl with a small glass rear window. Clean clear glass is noted for the nearly vertical tilt out windshield and a small mirror keeps the driver abreast of what is in the past. The bed has outward canted sides for ease of access, and this is in combination with a wood lined bed with polished dividers that work together like peas and carrots. The bed sides are steel as is the gate with its exterior Ford badge melting into the maroon paint. Black painted undulating fenders frame the cowled hood and bed and are connected in the centers by textured grip steel running boards. An additional spare tire is mounted within the drivers side fender also with a wire spoked wheel in black color and wrapped in an ivory canvas cover. All of the wide whitewall tires are in 4.40-4.50 and like new. Interior Swinging the door reveals a black vinyl door panel to lead the way into the truck. I noted the lack of window cranks, but hey...its a roadster! Once inside I perched my posterior upon a textured black vinyl bench seat, sans seatbelts, and took a moment to breathe things in. A single curved dash in full metal maroon painted jacket has the iconic Ford chromed mask style instrument cluster in the center. All instruments are working and look very clean. A large black bakelite steering wheel is fronting the dash. Rubber flooring in basic black is covering the floors and above is the underside of the manually lowerable top with its supporting stringers in nicely varnished oak. Drivetrain Under the twin cowled hood lies a pleasant surprise in the form of a 40hp, 201ci inline 4 cylinder L-head engine and 3-speed sliding gear manual transmission. This engine has a modern 2-barrel carburetor feeding the precise amounts of air and fossils through an updated aluminum intake manifold. All are ready to roll condition with a 3.78 geared rear axle. Keeping the charge on point is a 12 volt conversion with an alternator providing the juice. Undercarriage Very clean black painted rust free structural steel and mechanicals. These include transverse leaf springs in front and rear, and mechanical drum braking on all 4 corners. Bring a mirror as all is looking very sharp for this underside.
